JOB TITLE: Junior Décor Stylist
DEPARTMENT: House and Leisure
DIRECTLY REPORTING TO: Senior Décor Stylist
SUBORDINATES: None
SUMMARY:
Assisting the Deputy Editor, Johannesburg Bureau Chief and Senior Décor Stylist with the research, sourcing and scouting related to upcoming features, and story ideas.
Assisting the Senior Décor Stylist with the sourcing and returning of items for shoots plus related administrative tasks.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A minimum of one years’ work experience, preferably in the magazine industry would be preferable
• Interested in and passionate about decor
• Ability to interpret briefs
• Show initiative and demonstrate creativity in generating ideas for future Trends, Living and Leisure pages
• Sufficient financial savvy to run petty cash, work to a budget and process orders and invoices promptly and efficiently
• Ability to manage his/her own time and work under pressure
• Good people skills, patience and perseverance
• Flexible, energetic and hard working
• A valid driver’s license (and a car at his/her disposal)
• Physically fit enough to do all the fetching, carrying and lifting involved
• Able to use e-mail and Microsoft word
