First ABCs for Good Housekeeping

The first audited circulation figures for Good Housekeeping and the Afrikaans version, Goeie Huishouding, are in: a combined average circulation of 59 814 for the first two issues (November and December 2011). Good Housekeeping launched in October 2011 in South Africa.
 
“We are really pleased with the first circulation figures,” says Andreline van Tonder, Group Publisher for Associated Magazines. “This figure is within our projected expectations and is a good base to grow the brand from. The sales of our combined January/February issue have already exceeded this figure and our subscriptions are picking up. The market received the magazine with open arms and feedback has been flooding in from around the country across all platforms the magazine has to offer.
 
“We are particularly happy with the strong sell-through from our Afrikaans title, Goeie Huishouding, and we are reaching new territories through retail distribution and advertising clients. Good Housekeeping has also made a big impression on our digital platforms, as we are already seeing healthy figures for both our English and Afrikaans websites in a very short time frame, as well as a strong interaction on Facebook and Twitter. Our marketing will remain strongly focused on creating further awareness of the magazine through targeted brand activations and sampling,” concludes Van Tonder.
